Three symptoms of a sick society
You can watch those documentaries below.
Note: I could also have titled my article "How society leads you in three steps towards hell." The first video is about people who committed suicide since they overworked. The second video is about people quitting their jobs and living in net cafes. It was this solution or suicide. And the third video is somewhat the next step for net cafe refugees : once they don't have money anymore or can manage to have part-time job, it is time for them to live in the streets. It means not having food sometimes and dying of the cold and diseases. No more words and please watch those videos.
After the recession of the 1990s, Japan’s white collar salarymen increasingly must work arduous hours for fear of losing their jobs. This often leads to depression and suicide. See the project at http://mediastorm.com/clients/japans-disposable-workers-overworked-to-suicide-for-pulitzer-center
Internet cafes have existed in Japan for over a decade, but in the mid 2000’s, customers began using these spaces as living quarters. Internet cafe refugees are mostly temporary employees; their salary too low to rent their own apartments. Kamagasaki, Osaka, Japan used to be a thriving day laborer’s town. Today, it is home to approximately 25,000 unemployed and elderly men, many of whom are also homeless. See the project at http://mediastorm.com/clients/japans-disposable-workers-dumping-ground-for-pulitzer-center
